Claire Dawson-Pick


Claire has worked as a Solicitor since qualifying as a solicitor in 1986. She undertakes commercial cases, property disputes, negligence claims and contentious probate and trust work.

Recent Judgments include Maloney v Mundays LLP [2021] EWHC 1324 (Ch), a professional negligence case brought by Mr Maloney against his former solicitors who were ordered to pay him compensation for failing to inform him that part of the land in his transaction had been retained by the vendor. Claire acted for Mr Maloney.

Rosesilver Group Corp v Ian Paton (No.1) [2017] EWCA CIV 158 – appeal against Summary Judgment raising questions as to the fiduciary duties of a solicitor who acts for both of the parties to a transaction.

Rosesilver Group Corp v Paton (No. 2) [2018] EWHC 103 (Ch) – which was an application to set aside a Judgment on the basis that it was procured by fraud.

JBN [2019] EWCOP62 – In which the OPG was ordered to pay costs to an attorney it tried to remove. In a departure from normal practice, the England and Wales Court of Protection refused to pay the OPG from the LPA donor’s funds and ordered OPG to pay half the attorney’s costs. Claire acted for the attorney.

Claire undertakes a large number of mediations in London.

Claire is able to assist clients in the enforcement of awards such as those made against solicitors who have been found to have provided a poor or below standard of service to their clients by the Legal Ombudsman and awards made in other Tribunals. She has recently brought proceedings against The Ministry of Justice and has regular dealings on behalf of landlords of commercial property, and acts for clients in a variety of negligence and breach of contract claims.

Claire researches and writes her own lecture materials.
